ICT Honors and Awards, Winter 2012

ICT congratulates the following staff and students on recent accomplishments:

Jim Meister has been promoted to Senior Research Engineer at ICT. He joined ICT in 2005 as a Research Engineer—one of the ICTs first employees! Jim has been a valuable member of the ICT team supervising HMA and WMA batching, mixing and Superpave gyratory compaction, instructing and supervising CEE transportation students working at ATREL, and maintaining the lab safety policies and procedures.

Junior Evangelista successfully defended his thesis – “Three-Dimensional Modeling of Failure in Quasi-Brittle Materials and Structures.” He began an assistant professor position at California State- Los Angeles in January 2012. Evangelista was a student of Prof. Jeff Roesler.

Zhen Leng passed his final Ph.D. exam in 2011. The title of his thesis is “Prediction of In-Situ Asphalt Mixture Density Using Ground Penetrating Radar: Theoretical Development and Field Verification.”

Deb Mishra successfully defended his thesis, “Aggregate Characteristics Affecting Response and Performance of Unsurfaced Pavements on Weak Subgrades” under the supervision of Professor Erol Tutumluer.
