Peggy Currid, Technical Communications Specialist, has been on staff at ICT since April 2012. In this position, Currid edits technical reports to ensure that they meet quality standards for scientific/technical writing. She also oversees the IDOT Technical Review Panel meeting minutes process to maintain complete records of progress on IDOT/ICT projects. In addition, she is responsible for editing ICT communications such as the annual progress report and e-newsletter and assisting ICT graduate students with editing their papers for conference and publication submission.
She says, “The best thing about working at ICT is the opportunity to collaborate with smart people who are doing important work. I feel like I’m part of a larger team working to make scientific and technical material understandable to a general audience.”
Currid brings almost 20 years of technical editing experience to ICT. Previously, she has been an editor at Research Press, the International Society of Arboriculture, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. She holds an associate’s degree from Parkland College and a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University.
