Register Now for 2014 Erosion and Sediment Control Workshops

The Illinois Center for Transportation has opened registration for its erosion and sediment control workshops. The three modules offered in the workshop series are intended for Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) contractors, inspectors, designers, and others interested in erosion and sediment control and stormwater management best management practices (BMPs) for a sustainable environment.

Module I, Fundamentals of Stormwater Pollution and Erosion and Sediment Control, is a two-day course covering fundamentals of hydrology and soil erosion, regulations related to erosion and sediment control, BMPs for erosion and sediment control, and inspection of erosion and sediment control measures.

Module II, Erosion and Sediment Control Planning and Design, a one-day course, covers several topics: planning and design processes for erosion and sediment control, development of a stormwater pollution prevention plan narrative, and erosion and sediment control designs.

Module III, Inspection of Erosion and Sediment Control Best Management Practices, is also a one-day course. It covers the regulatory requirements for ILR40 and ILR10 compliance, identification of correct installation and maintenance of stormwater BMPs, BMP maintenance requirements, and the erosion and sediment control field guide for construction inspection.

Workshop schedules are available on the ICT website.
