ICT welcomes Shenghua Wu to the team! Shenghua comes to ICT fresh off of finishing work on his Ph.D. in civil engineering from Washington State University.
Before that, he received his master’s degree in civil engineering from Hunan University in China in 2011 and his B.S. in civil engineering from Central South University of Forestry and Technology in China in 2008.
He is certified as a Greenroads Sustainable Transportation Professional and has achieved Engineer in Training certification from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
As senior sustainability engineer, Shenghua will be in charge of identifying research needs for ICT’s transportation sustainability program. He will conduct and manage technical testing and experiments, develop and optimize research protocols, manage ongoing sustainability research projects, design research testing plans, participate in outreach activities for the sustainability research program, develop and deliver seminars and workshops to generate platforms for sustainability research projects, and develop presentations of research findings on sustainability. Shenghua will also spend some of his time working in Springfield with Illinois Department of Transportation staff.
Shenghua is as excited to join the ICT team as we are to have him. “It is such an honor for me to join ICT—an extraordinary team that is efficient, productive, and collaborative. ICT has a strong reputation for engineering research and deals not only with the most cutting-edge research but also with the technology transfer and implementation that the transportation industry demands,” says Shenghua.
“Working with Dr. Al-Qadi and the many outstanding researchers at ICT is definitely a great opportunity for me to grow and develop professionally.”
