Michelle Ward, research project coordinator, joined the staff at ICT February 2015 and quickly established herself as a key member of the Project Management team.
Born in Urbana and raised in Rantoul, Michelle received her bachelor’s degree in finance/economics from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, before going to the University of St. Francis in Joliet to obtain her MBA in 2012. She came to ICT with more than 13 years of financial management experience in the health care industry.
Michelle’s primary focus is serving as an administrative liaison for about half of the active research projects in ICT’s multimillion dollar collaboration with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). In that capacity, she assists project principal investigators so that they can focus on their research.
Michelle had this to say about her experience at ICT: “Now that I have been with ICT nearly a year and a half, it has been great seeing the entire life cycle of a project, which starts as a research need and could eventually be implemented to benefit IDOT, the state of Illinois, and perhaps even the entire transportation industry.”
Michelle’s energy and personality have livened up the hallways at ICT, and she’s always ready to lend a hand to coworkers. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband, Shaun; sons Caleb (age 8) and Jacob (age 2); and her two Boston terriers. She is a sports fan and loves to read. She also is an active volunteer for the PTO at her son Caleb’s school and serves as the group’s treasurer.
“I like the team environment that ICT offers,” says Michelle. And ICT appreciates the fine work that Michelle does each and every day.
