The primary objective of this study is to provide support to IDOT in the development of End-Result Specifications for asphalt concrete paving. This is being accomplished through demonstration projects, data analysis using statistical principles and simulations (ILLISIM), and laboratory testing. New testing devices to support the new specifications are also under investigation.
