RESEARCH NEEDS/ IDEAS FOCUSED ON THE ENVIRONMENT

The Environment TAG suggests the following possible research projects:

  1. Conduct research on potential opportunities for the establishment of in-lieu fee programs for the IDOT in those parts of the state outside of the service area of wetland mitigation bank sites.   
  2. Conduct research on wet floodplain forest natural communities.  Specifically, characterize the structure and identify the functions of wet floodplain forest natural communities and prepare prescriptions, including natural regeneration, for restoration of same.
