Erosion and Sediment Control Workshop

This course is designed for the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) contractors, inspectors, designers and others interested in erosion & sediment control and storm water management BMPs for a sustainable environment.


This one and half day course presents the following four topics:

  • -Regulatory/Permit Requirements
  • -Fundamentals of Hydrology and Soil Erosion
  • -BMPs for Erosion and Sediment Control
  • -Inspection of Erosion and Sediment Control Measures

In addition to the course materials, hands-on learning opportunities will be provided at a newly developed erosion/sediment control and storm water management facility. Individuals will earn 11 PDH's (Professional Development Hours) for attending and actively participating in the Erosion and Sediment Control Workshop.
