The Keslinger Road Bridge was a three-span simply supported bridge, consisted of precast prestressed deck supported on a group of timber pilings. The goal of this study is to investigate the reasons behind the abrupt failure of the bridge that occurred in the afternoon of August 19, 2008.

Investigate the collapse of the Keslinger Rd. Bridge in Afton Township, DeKalb County, IL.

The final report of the project will include the following: 1) Detailed description of the experimental and analytical work conducted in the project. 2) Final conclusions in terms of the main cause(s) of failure.
