Project Title:
Transfer & Development Lengths in Prestressed Self-Consolidating Concrete Bridge Box & I-Girders
Start Date: 7/16/2008
End Date: 6/30/2010
Summary of Project:
This research will assess and experimentally evaluate the effect of using self-consolidating concrete (SCC) on the transfer and development lengths of prestressing tendons in prestressed box and I-girders which are commonly used in Illinois bridges and compare it with the ACI and AASHTO code requirements.
Objective of Project:
The primary objective of this research is to assess and evaluate experimentally the effect of using self-consolidating concrete (SCC) on the transfer and development lengths of prestressing tendons in prestrerssed box and I-girders which are commonly used in Illinois bridges and compare it with the ACI and AASHTO code requirements. This project is an essential step towards adopting the technology of SCC in the state of Illinois.
Expected Outcome:
Completing essential step towards adopting the technology of SCC in the state of Illinois.
