This project will evaluate state-of-the-art radiation detection equipment to determine whether this equipment can meet the needs of the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police. Testing and evaluation will be performed in both the laboratory, under controlled conditions at Argonne National Laboratory, as well as the field.

To evaluate state-of-the-art radiation detection equipment under both controlled (laboratory) conditions at Argonne National Laboratory and in real-world (field) settings to determine whether this equipment can meet the needs of the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police.

Proven radiation detection equipment and techniques for use by the Illinois Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Police at weigh stations, rest areas and overpasses.
