Project Title:
Evaluation of Pavement Damage Due to New Tire Designs
Start Date: 1/1/2006
End Date: 12/31/2008
Summary of Project:
This project will examine the potential impact of various new tire designs, e.g., wide tires, on flexible pavement and thereby provide guidance to IDOT regarding asphalt thickness and design.
Objective of Project:
To evaluate the damage potential of new tire designs on flexible pavement.
Expected Outcome:
To characterize the impact of different pavement responses with different tire designs to improve asphalt thickness selection.
