This project will examine the hot mix asphalt (HMA) sampling, data collection and sample security practices currently utilized in Illinois' surrounding states. This on-site examination will be achieved by arranging for practitioners from Illinois to visit other states and provide documentation of the visits, including observations and conclusions. The researcher will produce recommendations on the best practices for hot mix asphalt sampling, data collection and sample security practices.
