Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Exhibit Wins First Place

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) tied for the First Place in the "Back to School" category of the awards presented for exhibits at the UIUC Engineering Open House (EOH) on March 7-8. The award recognized the ITE displays which included an interactive learning experience for EOH attendees on a variety of transportation-related topics. The major attractions included (a) Reaction Time and Glare Recovery Time Measurements, (b) Display of Pavement Types and Materials, (c) Interactive Quiz on Traffic Signs, and (d) Display of Traffic Control and Safety Devices. ITE also presented videos of crash restrain systems as well as highway and bridge constructions.

The current ITE officers include: Godfrey Mwesige (President), Robert Tegge (Vice-President), Eshan Dave (General Secretary), and Mathew Beyer (Treasurer). The ITE would like to recognize the volunteers and ITE members who helped make the EOH display possible, including Sara Alzate, Andrew Braham, Phil Donovan, Xiaopeng Li, Juan Medina, Geoff Roberts, and others.
