ATREL Hosts Visitors from Chinese Harbin Institute of Technology

Six guests from the School of Transportation Science and Engineering, of Harbin Institute of Technology (H.I.T.) in China recently visited UIUC and ATREL. They group was led by Dean Dr. Shi An and Vice Dean Xiangchen Hou. Their visit included meetings with Dr. Ouyang and his transportation systems students, ICT Director Dr. Al-Qadi, the CEE Department Head Dr. Elnashai, and Dr. Tutumleur. The group enjoyed visits to ATREL and the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) Facility.

This visit allowed UIUC faculty to reciprocate hospitality because H.I.T. hosted Dr. Al-Qadi and his students Hao Wang and Zhen Leng when they lectured at HIT in May 2009.

Another contingent from H.I.T. is scheduled to visit UIUC in December to discuss potential research collaborations with UIUC.
