UIUC Transportation Faculty Promotions and CAREER Award Announced
ICT congratulates three of its investigators on upcoming promotions and a recent award:Associate Professor William (Bill) G. Buttlar will be promoted to the rank of Professor, effective August 16, 2008. Bill is the Co-PI for ICT R58, Cost-Effectiveness & Performance of Overlay Systems/ Crack Control Methods in IL.
Associate Professor Erol Tutumluer will be promoted to the rank of Professor, effective August 16, 2008. Erol is the Co-PI for three ICT projects: R39-2, Nondestructive Pavement Evaluation Using ILLIPAVE Based Artificial Nueral Network Models; R27-1, Characterization of IL Aggregates for Subgrade Replacement and Subbase; and R27-27, Expansive Characteristics of Recycled Materials Used as Pavement Based Materials.
Assistant Professor Yanfeng Ouyang, received the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program Award for "Information Mechanisms and Robust Stabilization of Nonlinear, Stochastic Transportation Networks." Yanfeng is the PI or Co-PI on several ICT projects, including: R27-SP4, Highway Maintenance Manpower Needs Study; R27-18, Crash Data Analysis & Engineering Solutions for Local Agencies; R27-20, Develop Safety Performance Functions for Illinois; R27-22, Regional Trans. Data Mgmt. and Archiving System; R27-28-T2, Utah LTAP GIS Software Replication/ Training in IL; and R27-34, Pavement Program Planning Process Based on Benefit Cost Analysis.
