Kent Lecture Series Spring 2009

The transportation group had the honor of hosting two distinguished speakers as part of the Spring 2009 Paul Fraser Kent Lecture Series.

Most recently, on April 9, C. Michael Walton spoke on "Tomorrow's Transportation." On February 12, Chandra S. Desai spoke about "Unified Constitutive Model for Engineering (Pavement) Materials and Computer Applications."

Students, faculty, and other guests of the ICT and the transportation group greatly enjoyed listening to these two speakers as well as meeting them at receptions that followed their lectures.

This lecture series is sponsored by the Paul Fraser Kent Memorial Fund, which was established in 1977 to provide support for the transportation engineering area. Paul Fraser Kent (BS '20) was President of General Paving in Champaign and was the founder and first president of the Civil Engineering Alumni Association.
