Roesler Named Fulbright Scholar

Professor Jeff Roesler, Assistant Director of ATREL, has been named a Fulbright Scholar. He will spend the 2009-2010 academic year in Santiago, Chile at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, one of the top universities in South America. Roesler will be working with several faculty members in the Civil Engineering Department to study material characterization and fracture of concrete.

The traditional Fulbright Scholar Program sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year and is highly competitive. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Under a cooperative agreement with the Bureau, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) assists in the administration of the Fulbright Scholar Program for faculty and professionals.
