Illinois 52nd Bituminous Conference Convenes with Record Attendence and Awards Ceremony
The 52nd Annual Illinois Bituminous Paving Conference convened on December 7, 2011, at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign. This year's conference had record registrations of over 300 attendees. A new segment was included into the conference this year: special awards were presented to individuals for their contributions this past year.published: 02/01/2012
ICT/UIUC Researchers Present on Over 50 Topics at TRB
ICT researchers and students from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the ICT had a strong presence at the annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) held in Washington, D.C. on January 22-26, 2012. In total, this group presented on 51 topics.published: 02/01/2012
ICT Deploys Pilot Project in the Cicero-Midway Smart Corridor to Evaluate Traffic Monitoring Technologies
ICT is helping the City of Chicago select traffic management and information technologies for the corridor extending from Midway Airport to the Loop, also known as the Cicero-Midway Smart Corridor. The long term goals of this project are to improve corridor performance, improve air quality, reduce fuel consumption, and enhance traveler service and comfort.published: 02/01/2012
ICT Helps Local Agencies Implement Pavement Management Systems
Pavement management systems have proven to be an effective tool for management of large state and metropolitan pavement networks. A recent ICT project established guidelines and recommendations that can be used by local agencies to implement appropriately tailored pavement management systems so that better-performing pavements can be achieved.published: 02/01/2012

Each year, hundreds of transportation engineers, officials, technicians, faculty, and students gather to discuss issues critical to the safe and economical movement of people and goods across Illinois, the U.S.A., and beyond. The 2012 conference will be held February 28-29 at the historic Illini Union at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.
