International Symposium on Environmental Vibration and Transportation Geodynamics

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor Erol Tutumluer chaired the International Symposium on Environmental Vibration and Transportation Geodynamics (ISEV). The event was held October 27-28, 2018 at Central South University in Changsha, China. The scope of the eighth ISEV covered environmental vibrations induced by industrial, civilian and transportation activities, problems associated with dynamic vehicular loading on road foundations, and sustainability challenges of transportation infrastructures and the built environment. In addition to chairing the 2018 ISEV, Tutumluer also presented, “Understanding Track Substructure Behavior: Field Instrumentation Data Analysis and Development of Numerical Models.” The ninth ISEV will take place in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan in 2021.
