Hao Wang, a PhD student in transportation engineering advised by Dr. Al-Qadi, has been awarded the Yee Memorial Fund Fellowship for the 2010-2011 academic year.
The Yee Memorial Fund Fellowship has been made possible by a generous bequest of Drs. Warren and Ming Ting Yee. Dr. Warren Yee received his PhD degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois in 1943. Dr. Warren Yee was a partner in the Detroit firm of Harley, Ellington, Pierce & Yee Associates and later was the founder of Bio-Tech Research Laboratory, Inc. in Washington, D.C. Dr. Warren Yee died in 1984.
The selection of Yee fellowship is based on academic performance, demonstrated interest in engineering education, and research accomplishments.
Since the inception of this college-wide award last year, two transportation students have been the recipients. Last year, Zhen Leng, also a PhD student under Dr. Al-Qadi, received this same honor.
