The ICT congratulates its investigators on recent honors and outreach activities:

Bassem Andrawes, along with Andres Pozolo, published and presented a paper on ICT project (27-56 Transfer & Development Lengths in Prestressed Self-Consolidating Concrete Bridge Box and I-Girders) at the 2009 Precast/Prestressed Convention. The paper is titled “Bond Stress-Slip Relationship for Steel Strand Embedded in Self-Consolidating Concrete.”

Khaled El-Rayes (PI for ICT 27-2 Nighttime Construction: Evaluation of Lighting Glare for Highway Construction in IL and ICT 27-74 Green Friendly Best Management Practices for Interstate Rest Areas) has been appointed to a 3-year term as a Specialty Editor of the American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE) Journal of Construction Engineering and Management in the specialty area of construction time and cost.

David Lange (Co-PI for ICT 44 Performance and Acceptance of Self-Consolidating Concrete) was selected to serve on the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Board of Directors for a 3-year term commencing at the conclusion of the ACI Spring 2010 Convention.

Scott Olson (PI for ICT 27-SP12 DeKalb County Bridge Collapse Investigation and ICT 27-25 Modification of IDOT Integral Abutment Design Limitations) is traveling to Haiti as part of a Geo-engineering Extreme Events Reconnaissance (GEER) team. The GEER association is funded through the National Science Foundation and the National Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program (NEHRP).

Several ICT investigators presented their ICT research at the 89th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB).
