ICT is investigating technological advancements in LED roadway lighting to determine applications where IDOT can reduce costs or improve lighting. The study, led by PI Ray Benekohal, will quantify the benefits and costs of using LED for roadway lighting and recommendations for where to use in Illinois.
The field work for this project is being conducted near ATREL along Rantoul’s South Perimeter Road, and Benekohal worked with the village’s Public Works to set up the experiments.
