ATREL welcomed Professor Eyad Masad from Texas A&M University on September 20, 2010. Masad gave a presentation on the development of a mechanistic structural model to simulate and predict the performance of asphalt pavements. His model incorporates a constitutive material model which is formulated to describe the nonlinear viscoelastic, viscoplastic and viscodamage behavior of asphalt mixtures.
