The civil engineering graduate program at Illinois came in at No. 1 in the 2021 U.S. News & World Report rankings of Best Graduate Schools in the category, Best Engineering Schools: Civil. Illinois tied for first with the University of California at Berkeley. The department ranked fourth in the category, Best Engineering Schools: Environmental/Environmental Health.
The Illinois online program also ranked No. 1 when U.S. News & World Report rated online programs for the first time this year. The CEE Online program offers graduate-level courses in each of the department’s areas of study and master’s degrees in some.
CEE at Illinois undergraduate programs, for which rankings are announcedin the fall, also consistently rate among the top in the nation. Currently, the undergraduate civil engineering program is ranked No. 3, and the undergraduate environmental engineering program is No. 5.
