Join the Illinois Center for Transportation, Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois Asphalt Pavement Association to explore the emerging application of ground-penetrating radar for monitoring the compaction of flexible pavement on the go.
The free workshop will be held online on Thursday, November 12, from 12:00-1:30 p.m. (CST).
The workshop will cover GPR fundamentals and current Illinois quality control and acceptance practices for in situ density of hot-mix asphalt and stone-matrix asphalt. It will also explore ICT’s roller-mounted GPR technology and its successful applications through several demonstration projects conducted across Illinois.
Attendees will learn about the technology, cost and time benefits for contractors and agencies, and reliability compared with cores and nuclear gauge measurements. They will also have an opportunity to discuss and provide feedback to help accelerate roller-mounted GPR adoption across the state.
