ICT researchers take part in 2015 Airfield and Highway Pavements Conference

The Transportation and Development Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers held its biannual International Federal Airfield and Pavements Conference June 7–10, 2015, in Miami, Florida. The Illinois Center for Transportation was one of eight cooperating organization for the conference.

The theme of this year’s conference was Innovative and Cost-Effective Pavements for a Sustainable Future. The conference brought together researchers, designers, project and construction managers, and contractors from around the world to participate in workshops and sessions focusing on current and future challenges for airfield and highway pavement sustainability, design, rehabilitation, advanced modeling, performance, evaluation and monitoring, life-cycle assessment, and emerging technologies.

ICT director Imad Al-Qadi served on this year’s conference Steering and Scientific Committees. Al-Qadi has been a member of various committees for the biannual conference since 2006. ICT researchers Hasan Ozer and Erol Tutumluer served on the Scientific Committee for this year’s conference, and Ozer was a member of the Best Young Member Paper Selection Committee.
