UIUC forms collaboration with National Taiwan University focused on autonomous vehicles

8/1/2018

A newly-formed collaboration between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and National Taiwan University is working to accelerate the transition to an autonomous world.

During a recent meeting with members from both universities, several presentations focused on the improvements autonomous vehicles will make to the traveling public. The obstacles researchers must help overcome were also discussed, including helping the elder and disabled population become more mobile.

The new collaboration is not only expected to aid in breakthroughs in the world of autonomous and connected vehicles, it is poised to provide UIUC students with international work experience as well.

The collaboration between the two universities will continue with the first ever NTU-UIUC Forum on Smart Mobility, Autonomous & Connected Vehicles scheduled for Sept. 20 and 21, 2018 in Taiwan. Faculty, doctoral students and leaders in the transportation industry are expected to attend. More information can be found here.
