Registration open: 66th Illinois Bituminous Paving Conference

Illinois Center for Transportation is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 66th Illinois Bituminous Paving Conference, taking place Dec. 9–10 at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, Illinois. The event welcomes all interested attendees, exhibitors and sponsors.

This annual, two-day conference brings together academia, government and industry transportation professionals from across Illinois and beyond to learn about the latest advancements in bituminous paving and flexible pavement solutions.

This year’s theme is Safe and Resilient Pavements.

Industry and academic experts will discuss best practices, performance, measurement and rolling resistance at a workshop on Dec. 9. Participants will include Bill Pine (Heritage Research Group), Hyung Lee (Applied Research Associates), John Senger (Illinois Department of Transportation) and Imad Al-Qadi (ICT/University of Illinois). Yanfeng Ouyang, U. of I. George Krambles Endowed Professor, will moderate the session, followed by an evening networking reception.

On Dec. 10, Al-Qadi will provide welcoming remarks, followed by a full day of technical sessions and an awards ceremony, recognizing excellence in the field.

Sigurður Erlingsson, University of Iceland and KTH Royal Institute of Technology professor, will serve as keynote speaker. The Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) professor will present on “Towards Zero Emission Road Construction — The Use of Recycled Materials in Pavement Structures.”
