R27-109: Effect of Flaggers and Spotters in Directing Work Zone Traffic for Illinois Expressways and Freeways. Principal investigators were Khaled El-Rayes, Liang Liu, Nora El-Gohary, and Ahmed Abdelmohsen of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. TRP Chairs were Paul Lorton, IDOT Bureau of Safety Engineering, and John Benda, Illinois Tollway.

R27-106: Formability of New High Performance A710 Grade 50 Structural Steel. Principal investigators were Semyon Vaynman and Morris E. Fine of Northwestern University. TRP Chair was Chis Hahin, IDOT Bureau of Materials and Physical Research.

R27-098: State of Practice for Concrete Cylinder Match Curing and Effect of Test Cylinder Size. Principal investigators were John Popovics, Suyun Ham, and Stephen Garrett of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. TRP Chair was Doug Dirks, IDOT Bureau of Materials and Physical Research.

R27-108: Improving the Effectiveness of Nighttime Temporary Traffic Control Warning Devices, Volume 2: Evaluation of Nighttime Mobile Warning Lights. Principal investigators were Douglas Steele, Jessica Zabecki, and Laura Zimmerman of Applied Research Associates, Inc. TRP Chair was Tim Kell, Acting Bureau Chief for IDOT’s Bureau of Construction.

R27-117: 2012 National State Safety Engineers and Traffic Engineers Peer-to-Peer Workshop. Principal investigator was Yanfeng Ouyang of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. TRP Chair was Priscilla Tobias, Bureau Chief, IDOT Bureau of Safety Engineering.
