ICT is pleased to recognize and congratulate two of its graduate student research assistants for their recent achievements. Mohammad Jalayer and Mahdi Pour Rouholamin contributed to ICT projects on topics such as wrong-way driving, highway safety, and highway data collection. During those projects, both were doctoral candidates at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). They currently are continuing their studies at Auburn University.

Mohammad Jalayer

Jalayer was a runner-up for the 2014 Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award, Southern District of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, for a paper titled “Developing Calibration Factors for Crash Prediction Models with Consideration of Crash Recording Threshold Change.”

Mahdi Pour Rouholamin

Rouholamin was also a runner-up for the 2014 Outstanding Graduate Student Paper Award presented by the Southern District of the Institute of Transportation Engineers. His paper was titled “Wrong-Way Driving Entry Points and Statistical Characteristics: A Case Study of Crashes on Illinois Freeways.”
