Recent ICT-IDOT report publications

Several reports from recently completed, Illinois-Department-of-Transportation-sponsored projects are now available on Illinois Center for Transportation's website. New projects include:

R27-176: Alternative Noise Barriers Approvals. The main objectives of this report were to study the current IDOT alternative noise barrier approval procedure, gather and analyze feedback from other Departments of Transportation on their experiences in approving and utilizing alternative noise barriers, and provide guidance to IDOT on expediting alternative noise barrier approvals.

R27-187: Pavement Surface Treatments for Ice-Prone Locations in the Illinois Highway System. This report documents the comprehensive review of existing research and agency practices both nationally and internationally in using pavement surface treatments for icy/slippery pavement condition prevention.
