ICT honors Sarfraz Ahmed

ICT bids farewell and good luck to Sarfraz Ahmed, who recently completed his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Civil Engineering with a focus on asphalt materials. His research interests include low temperature characterization of asphalt materials, pavement testing, and rehabilitation. Dr. Ahmed’s thesis is titled “Fracture Characterization of Thin Bonded Asphalt Concrete Overlay Systems.”

Dr. Ahmed will be starting as an Assistant Professor at National University of Sciences and Technology in Pakistan in March 2011.

Sarfraz was a constant fixture in front of the fracture testing machine at ATREL. In line with his generous nature, before leaving ATREL, he produced a detailed instruction guide about running tests on this machine. He was always a friendly face around ATREL and will be missed. Sarfraz was recently honored by students and faculty for his exceptional work and positive attitude.
