ICT Bids Farewell to David King

11/1/2014

David King, ICT’s senior fiscal operations manager, retired on September 30. He had been with the Center since 2006. Before coming to ICT, Dave was the executive director/public health administrator for the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District. He has also worked for a variety of state agencies—the Illinois Department of Public Heath, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and Illinois Department of Transportation.

In honor of Dave’s retirement and to recognize his valuable contributions to ICT, a luncheon was held October 7. ICT director Imad Al-Qadi presented Dave with an engraved clock and memorabilia from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Illinois.

At the luncheon, Al-Qadi said that Dave, who was the first full-time employee at ICT, was an integral part of the Center’s success. “All of Dave’s qualities—his dedication, close attention to detail, ability to act a sounding board, and sense of humor—will make him greatly missed at ICT. On behalf of everyone at ICT, I wish him well in his retirement.” Other faculty, staff, and students also spoke at the luncheon about all the ways Dave has helped them over the years.
