65th Illinois Bituminous Paving Conference: Join us in Champaign

Illinois Center for Transportation is hosting its 65th Illinois Bituminous Paving Conference, on Dec. 10-11, at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, Illinois.

The conference kicks off on Dec. 10 with the workshop titled “Effective Friction for Safe and Sustainable Pavements,” led by Edgar David de León Izeppi from the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, John Senger of the Illinois Department of Transportation, Jeffrey Shaw of the Federal Highway Administration and Priscilla Tobias from ARORA and Associates.

On Dec. 11, the conference opens with welcoming remarks by ICT director and conference chair Imad Al-Qadi, followed by program updates from IDOT and FHWA. Sessions will highlight low-carbon materials, sustainability and innovations in bituminous paving.
This year’s keynote speech will feature Richard Willis, Vice President of the National Asphalt Pavement Association. Willis, an expert in recycled materials for asphalt, pavement-vehicle interaction, pavement design and environmental product declarations, will share valuable insights on sustainable practices in paving.
The conference will also honor individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to pavement engineering, with each award recipient receiving $500 in recognition of their achievements. Submit award nominations on ICT’s website.
