Join Elizabeth Irvin, Illinois Department of Transportation deputy director — Office of Planning and Programming, as she presents via Zoom at the Fall 2024 Kent Seminar Series Thursday, September 19, from 2-3 p.m. (CT).
The Fall 2024 semester is set to feature 13 presentations, each addressing a topic related to the electrification of transportation infrastructure. See the full lineup of speakers for Fall 2024.
Pizza and soft drinks will be provided beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the ICT Classroom.
All presentations will be held on Zoom, but some speakers will present in person at ICT.

Abstract: Irvin will provide an overview of ongoing electrification efforts in Illinois, including the deployment of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program in the state and recently announced awards for electric vehicle charger construction along Illinois highways.
Bio: Irvin is deputy director in Illinois Department of Transportation’s Office of Planning and Programming. She focuses on implementing sustainability initiatives, including the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure and Carbon Reduction programs funded by the recent federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Prior to IDOT, Irvin worked in the public and nonprofit sectors on equitable deployment of clean transportation. She has a bachelor’s in English and music and a master’s in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
