Abstract and Bio
This presentation highlights the Illinois Department of Transportation’s role in advancing the state’s electrification goals. It will examine how IDOT’s programs and initiatives support the expansion of electric vehicle infrastructure, with emphasis on federal funding from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. Topics include deploying DC fast chargers along Alternative Fuel Corridors, building a reliable and accessible charging network, and integrating electrification into long-range transportation planning. The session will showcase Illinois’ progress toward its goal of 1 million EVs by 2030 and its commitment to a sustainable, equitable transportation future.
