Bio

R. John Hansman is the T. Wilson Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he directs the MIT International Center for Air Transportation. His research focuses on applying information technology to aerospace operations, including air transportation safety, efficiency and sustainability. He earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT. His work has contributed extensively to research and education in advanced aviation systems, air transportation and aerospace operations.
