Operations and Maintenance Technical Advisory Group
Illinois Department of Transportation’s Operations and Maintenance Technical Advisory Group identified seven research needs for the upcoming research cycle:
- Bridging Transportation Operators’ Real-Time Information Gaps
- Durability of Reflectors Installed on Bridge Parapets, Permanent Concrete Barriers and Temporary Concrete Barriers
- Effectiveness of Leading Pedestrian Intervals for Left-Turn Movements at Traffic Signals
- Uninterruptible Power Supply System Operations
- Implementation of Flashing Yellow Arrows for Right-Turn Movements
- Left-turn Phase Sequence Alternatives
- Crosswalk Crossing Prohibition — Durable Artificial PROWAG Compliant Non-Prepared Surface
The contact and TAG chair is Kyle Armstrong, who serves Illinois Department of Transportation’s Office of Highway Project Implementation in the Bureau of Operations.
Submit a Proposed Research Idea Statement to address the research need(s). While proposals aligned with the TAG’s specified research needs are more likely to be funded, additional research ideas are also welcome for review.
Research ideas are prioritized based on the availability of funding, the TAG’s current needs and submittal quality.
