Illinois Flexibility Index Test

The Illinois Flexibility Index Test was developed under ICT-IDOT project R27-128 to evaluate the cracking resistance of asphalt mixtures at intermediate temperatures. Finite element simulations and digital image correlation measurements were used to understand the mechanisms of damage during cracking and resulted in the development of the Flexibility Index, the main outcome of I-FIT.
